XVI International AIDS Conference
XVI International AIDS Conference
Sexuality Policy Watch has used the opportunity of the XVI International AIDS Conference that took place in August 2006 in Toronto to engage in a series of events. In the formal space of the Conference, Sexuality Policy Watch presented a panel focused on selected cases from its sexuality politics project. SPW also has produced a video on the AIDS Conference in Toronto.
Yogyakarta Principles
Yogyakarta Principles
In november 2006 a group of experts met in Yogyakarta, Indonesia: UN independent experts, members of human right treaty bodies, academics and LGBTQ human rights defenders. They adopted the Yogyakarta Principles for the application of international human rights law in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity. The Principles were launched in a series of events.
