WORKING PAPERS

Here you can find a series of Working Papers produced by individual SPW members and partners. These analyze relevant sexuality policy arenas and episodes evident in different regions.

In 2007, the Pope’s visit to Brazil mobilized various groups in opposition to the Vatican’s moral dogmatism. In support of these groups, SPW, in close collaboration with CLAM, has produced short articles to illuminate the larger social and political context within which the Pope’s visit occurred. This series of articles along with a new article from 2008 comprises the SPW 5th Working Paper – The Pope’s visit to Brazil: context and effects, that is also available in Spanish and Portuguese.

Working Paper N.1, by Françoise Girard

The SPW report, “Global Implications of U.S. Domestic and International Policies on Sexuality”, written by Françoise Girard, was launched at the San Juan high level meeting (2004) organized by ECLAC.


Working paper N.2, by Ignacio Saiz

The SPW report, “Bracting Sexuality: Human Rights and Sexual Orientation”, written by Ignacio Saiz, analizes the recognition of rights realting to sexual orientation within the United Nations human rights system.


Working Paper N.3, by Angela Collet

SPW Working Paper 3, “Interrogating ‘Sexualities’ at Beijing+10″, written by Angela Collet, is an anlysis on the CSW and Beijing+10 process.


Working Paper N.4, by Codou Bop

Check out the article Senegal: homophobia and Islamic political manipulation by Codou Bop, a Senegalese journalist. She develops aed particularly sharp insight analysis about on the Senegalese episode, which may also throwshed light into on the dynamics at play work beneath in other cases.

Working Paper N.5 - Pope’s visit to Brazil
