:: New SPW Working Paper
In 2007, the Pope’s visit to Brazil mobilized various groups in opposition to the Vatican’s moral dogmatism. In support of these groups, SPW, in close collaboration with CLAM, has produced short articles to illuminate the larger social and political context within which the Pope’s visit occurred.  :: IDS Bulletin in Portuguese
Since 2005, SPW and the gender program at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS – UK) have worked together in a creative and productive partnership. One of the achievements of this partnership has been a Portuguese translation of the IDS Bulletin - Sexuality Matters. This publication, entitled Questões de Sexualidade – Ensaios Transculturais, was recently launched in Brazil and is also being translated into Arabic, Chinese, French, Hindi and Spanish. Read more>>

 :: SexPolitics: Reports from the Front Lines
SPW has the great pleasure to announce that the e-book SexPolitics: Reports from the Front Lines has been launched. This is the outcome of a project launched in 2004: a transnational, cross-cultural research initiative that we hoped would capture some dynamics of sexual politics in our time. The research was performed in eight countries - Brazil, Egypt, India, Peru, Poland, South Africa, Turkey, and Vietnam - and in relation to two global institutions, the United Nations and the World Bank. :: Yogyakarta Principles were launched in Brazil!
 These set of principles provide evidence to show that human rights violations targeted toward persons because of their actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity constitute an entrenched global pattern of serious concern. They are principles on the application of international human rights law in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity. They affirm binding international legal standards with which all States must comply. Read more>>
